Court Storming

Court storming, when will the NCAA, conferences and schools address this issue?

We have seen players get knocked over by "fans" running onto the court to celebrate a win, why? Fans have no rights to storm the court, why should they? where in the ticket does it say if we upset the team you are allowed to storm the court? They are taking away from the payers who actually played the game the happiness of winning a big game and celebrating with their teammates.

Here are some ideas to ban court storming lets address what conferences can do. Fine the school where the storming occurs. The Big 12 fined UCF 25,000, SEC fined LSU 100,000. It will be very interesting what the ACC will do now that one of the "fans" made contact with a player.

Other options take away home games against the opponent, for example team A pays team B team A storms the court take away the next home game team A has against team B. Reduce the number of scholarships awarded to all teams. For example DI schools can offer up to 85 football scholarships while basketball can offer to 13. School could be penalized 20 percent of scholarships, basketball would lose 2.6 scholarships while football would lose 17 scholarships, while it may not be fair that football be penalized for basketball storming or visa versa it would implore the school to come up with ways to protect the players

What can the school do? If you are one of the "fans" that rush the court on make contact with a player than you will be expelled from the school. I am sure there is student conduct rules, include storming the court and field in it. Please do not tell me that the students emotions got the best of them, there seem to be no repercussions for their actions they will continue to do so until there is a consequence for the actions. Do you see them running down the hallway celebrating when they earned an A on a test? of course not.

Players, sue the University/College where the incident occurred. If a player gets injured and his playing career is over what potential money would they not earn? would their scholarship be revoked? Can you imagine how quickly universities/colleges would react when the first case goes to court? What would have happened if Caitlin Clark suffered a career ending injury, she would lose out on potential millions of dollars because a "fan" not paying attention runs onto the court, all she gets would be an apology?

Media, as soon as the game is over cut to a commercial break, keep the cameras rolling just in case there is an incident. By showing the court rushing it gives the students or whomever is storming the court their five minutes of fame.
