

The Snow League, the first professional snowboarding league created by legendary snowboarder Shaun White. Athletes from around the world will converge to showcase their skills in a league that not only celebrates progression but also brings a fresh format to the sport. With a focus on both head-to-head matchups and a season-long points system, each competition will build toward crowning the first Snow League champion.


In the women's finals at the first ever Snow League competition being held in Aspen Snowmass fans witnessed one of the best head-to-head battles between the top snowboarders Maddies Mastro of the USA and Japan's Ayumu Tomita.
In the best of three Tomita won the first of the head-to head , however Mastro came back to claim the second round, it all came down the final run between the women. where Tomita edged out Mastro by .5 of a point where turned a run that saw her do a 12-foot frontside 1080 tailgrab, into a switch frontside 720, linking up a pair of 540s, finishing strong with a frontside 900 melon grab, and a final Method.
How did Tomita feel about capturing the Snow Leagues first ever event “I’m so happy to win the inaugural Snow League event—this feels like the start of something big!”
The third place winner was Gaon Choi of Korea who defeated Japan's Mitsuki Ono by emerging victorious in the first two runs.
By winning the Aspens Snowmass Tomita took home $50,000, Mastro claimed $20,000 and Choi earned $10,000, Ono earned $5,000 all other entrants earned $2,500
The next Snowleague competition will beheld at Yunding Secret Garden in China, December 4–6, 2025. Freeskiing will make the first Snowleague event on the season. .

The Snow League Announces Schedule
It all begins with the season-opener in Aspen, Colorado, March 7–8, 2025, where 36 of the world’s top halfpipe snowboarders will kick off the competition at Buttermilk in Aspen Snowmass. The league then heads to Yunding Secret Garden in China on December 4–6, 2025. The Beijing 2022 Olympic venue will see 16 of the world’s best freeskiers join the Snow League’s snowboard roster for the remainder of Season One.
After a break for the 2026 Winter Olympics, the league resumes competition on February 26–28, 2026 back at Buttermilk in Aspen.
The season then concludes at the iconic LAAX halfpipe in Switzerland on March 19–21, 2026, which will culminate in the crowning of the first-ever Snow League World Champions.

With a record-breaking $1.6 million prize pool, The Snow League sets a new benchmark for professional snowboarding competition. Each event will distribute $370,000 across the field, including a $5,000 appearance fee for each athlete, with an additional $160,000 awarded to the snowboarding Snow League World Champions.
Athletes will accumulate points based on their results from each event to be tallied together at the end of the season to crown The Snow League World Champions in halfpipe snowboarding and freeskiing.
The Snow League has become the first professional winter sports league dedicated exclusively to snowboarding and freeskiing, . The Snow League was founded in June 2024 by three-time Olympic gold medalist Shaun White, the league is set to redefine competitive winter sports at these iconic resorts spanning three continents.

The inaugural season of The Snow League will showcase the world’s top winter sports athletes going head-to-head in multiple halfpipe events at some of the most iconic resort locations in the world.
The competition launches in Aspen Snowmass on March 7-8, 2025, featuring the world’s top snowboarders. Freeskiing will be introduced during the league’s second event in late 2025, and will be included in all future events.
Athletes will compete to accumulate points based on their results from each event to be tallied together at the end of the season to crown The Snow League World Champion.
The Snow League will employ the most innovative and exciting formats in winter sports starting at the inaugural event at Buttermilk Mountain.
Format Details – Aspen Snowmass
Qualifying Day will be broken into four heats of five athletes. The top four athletes on The Snow League points list will be selected into individual heats with the rest of the heat randomly drawn based on current World Snowboard Points List (WSPL) standings.
Each athlete will take two runs with the highest run counting. The victor in each heat advances to Finals Day. The second and third place athletes from each heat will get a second chance to qualify with a two run Last Chance Qualifier.
The Last Chance Qualifier is the final opportunity for riders to make it to Finals Day. The remaining eight will have best one of two runs to make it to the championship bracket. The top four will be paired up with other qualified athletes from the heats for our Championship day.
Finals Day will pit athlete against athlete in a best two of three run, head-to-head format. Each athlete must drop into both the right and left hand wall in their first two runs. The first athlete to win two runs will advance to the next round.
The rider that wins each of their head-to-head matchups will claim the title in Aspen Snowmass and take home their share of the prize purse split equally between genders.
